International Elliptical Cycling Day Celebrated Worldwide
August 2, 2017
Elliptical bicycle riders around the world took to the streets on Saturday, July 8 in celebration of International Elliptical Cycling Day (IECD). ElliptiGO headquarters hosted a ride at its Solana Beach location and offered two ride distances – 16.5 miles and 33 miles – to eager riders. Both rides were out-and-back routes along the breathtaking North County coastline, culminating in a spirited coffee shop breakfast where elliptical cyclists swapped laughs and stories.
The ElliptiGO community shared their many adventures on IECD through social media. Peggy V. rode 16 miles, her furthest ride to date. Simon D. is 53 years old and had his second hip replacement 8 months ago. Thanks to his 11R, he’s been able t o regain fitness and rode 80 miles on IECD! And a fun fact: Anamaria N. let us know that one of her children celebrated a birthday on IECD – a great day, in our opinion!
This year’s International Elliptical Cycling Day commemorated the 12th anniversary of ElliptiGO Inc. co-founder s Bryan Pate, CEO and Brent Teal, ElliptiGO Chief Engineer, formalizing their partnership to develop the world’s first elliptical bicycle on July 3, 2005. Five years later, ElliptiGO introduced the first elliptical bicycle and remains the industry leader, having sold more than 20,000 elliptical bikes to customers around the world.
